Hold a key in any app. Speak naturally. Release it. Talvex transcribes, cleans up, and inserts your words at the cursor.
Download for Apple Silicon macOS 13+English and Arabic dictation. Free release download.
Use a modifier key anywhere—no switching apps or reaching for a menu.
Choose English, Arabic, or Auto mode for speech that moves between your selected languages.
Talvex adds the finished text to the app and field you were already using.
Talvex is built around the small controls that make a voice tool fit into real writing.
Dictated text is inserted into the focused macOS app—Mail, Notes, a browser, chat, and more.
Pin a language when you know it, or let Auto detect from the languages you chose during setup.
Follow the system default or select an input yourself. Automatic mode protects AirPods playback by preferring a built-in mic when appropriate.
See a compact or detailed floating indicator, choose start and stop sounds, and launch Talvex automatically at login.
Use spoken punctuation and editing commands. Optionally remove fillers, format numbers, apply smart spacing, and add personal phrase replacements.
Keep one key for ordinary dictation and another for dictating directly into a translation.
Translation and Arabic transcription are configurable rather than hidden behind a single “smart” mode.
Choose English, Modern Standard Arabic, or Egyptian Arabic as the translation target. Turn translation on for normal dictation or use the dedicated translate hotkey.
Arabic dictation uses WhisperKit locally by default. You can instead choose Deepgram Nova-3 for Arabic after providing your own API key; English remains local.
English dictation runs locally on Apple Silicon. Arabic also uses local WhisperKit by default.
Cloud services are optional: translation requires a configured API key, and Deepgram is an opt-in Arabic transcription backend. Talvex makes that choice visible in Preferences.
